Around „plastic“, the transdisciplinary performance focuses on the behaviour of plastic, which by definition in Oxford dictionary, is to form and deform. Taking the definition of plastic in the broader sense, the performance while addressing the current environmental crisis brings focus to the concept of the plasticity of the human psyche and how different fragments of information shape the human mind. Jaskaran Anand stresses on the need to be aware of our own actions and thoughts, meanwhile keeping attention towards the representations in the world that have the power to influence our thoughts and actions.
Accompanied by a sound composition, created through the element of plastic as well as two video works, which put uses of and alternatives to plastic in the context of capitalism, media consumption and political models of power into their center, Jaskaran Anand suggests that while we are finding a solution to the “problem of plastic”, we also need to focus on finding a solution to direct the unnecessary information entering our mind.
The transdisciplinary and interactive performance „Hibernating Further“ turns Brunnepassage into a plasticified space. It will be followed by a performance-related-discussion with Sabrina Bühn about the philosophy of plasticity and ecology with the audience. The performance and discussion will take place in English.

Die Brunnenpassage ist seit 2007 Labor transkultureller Kunst. In der ehemaligen Markthalle am Wiener Brunnenmarkt finden jährlich über 400 Veranstaltungen statt. Das transdisziplinäre Programm reicht von Theater und Tanz über Musikformate bis hin zu Ausstellungen und Film. Die Produktionen der Brunnenpassage nehmen die Gesellschaft in ihrer gesamten Vielheit zum Ausgangspunkt des künstlerischen Schaffens. Die Kunstproduktionen entstehen in Ko-Kreation zwischen professionellen Künstler*innen und Menschen aus der Zivilgesellschaft, sie fördern Begegnung auf Augenhöhe. Das Bekenntnis zu Diversität auf allen Produktionsebenen ist grundlegend. Der künstlerische Fokus liegt auf transkulturellen, transdisziplinären, mehrsprachigen, multi-perspektivischen und intergenerationalen Formaten und Produktionen. Künstlerische Qualität und gesellschaftspolitische Ziele werden verbunden, um neue kollektive Räume für ein heterogenes Publikum zu schaffen und neue ästhetische Erfahrungen zu ermöglichen. Die Brunnenpassage beschäftigt sich konzeptuell mit der Frage wie durch künstlerische Produktion Praxen etabliert werden können, die für möglichst breite Teile der Bevölkerung interessant sein können. Die Brunnenpassage ist ein lernender Raum, in der diese Erkenntnisse stetig in die Arbeit einfließen, mit dem Ziel die gewonnen Erfahrungen zu teilen und anderen Akteur*innen zur Verfügung zu stellen. Mehrjährige Kooperationen mit etablierten Kulturinstitutionen der Innenstadt sind Teil des Kernkonzepts.
